Hydronic fan coil units continuously circulate indoor air through the coil to cool or heat it, in order to maintain the desired room temperature and a certain relative humidity. The cold water or hot water used by the coil is supplied by a centralized colding and heating source, to meet the hygienic requirements of air-conditioned rooms.
Compared to centralized systems, ultra thin hydronic fan coil air conditioning systems do not have large air ducts, only water pipes and smaller BM fan coils. This make them easier to install, take up less space, and allow for better individual adjustment. They are widely used in areas where precise temperature and humidity control are not necessary, particularly in smaller rooms that need individual control for comfortable air conditioning.
Before installing hydronic fan coil units, an appearance check should be performed. Additionally, a test of the three-speed fan operation and water pressure test should be conducted.
When connecting pipes to the hydronic fan coil units, it is advisable to use flexible hoses.
The supply and return water valves, as well as the filters of the hydronic fan coil units, should be installed near the coil and properly insulated.
For wall-mounting units, ensure the mounting is secure and the position is correct. Concealed coils should have an accessible inspection door for easy inspection and maintenance.
When connecting the units to the supply and return water pipelines, special tools should be used to avoid damaging the coil interfaces. For connectioning between the condensate pan to the condensate pipe, a 200mm long plastic hose with a special clamp should be used.
Hydronic fan coil units should be connected after the pipeline has been flushed to prevent coil blockage; if a filter is installed, it should be removed and cleaned after system commissioning before handover.
